Sotela was born and raised in SanJose Costa Rica, one of the most beautiful countries in the world. In 2001, he starts as a progressive trance dj under the alias “Junior”. On 2004 he decides to step away from trance and becomes a house progressive dj also initiates as a producer. Currently he has been signed with dance record labels around the globe such as UK, Rumania, Mexico, Panama, New York and Spain, Sotela has become one of the ambassadors of Costa Rica of progressive house. He its singles have been acclaimed and supported by world class djs like Hernán Cattaneo, Sultán, Christopher Lawrence, Roland Kleinenberg, Pako and Frederik, Thomas Penton, Harry Lemon, Darren Elipson, Paolo Mojo, dj Toucher, Joop, Solarstone, FRED NUMF just to mention a few.. He has shown to be one of “new breed” talent on all over central america within a exponential growth in the last 5 years.

National Experience

A year later at the age of 17, Sotela began his DJ career playing at one of the first house music lounge bar in costa rica with excellent response from the audience.

He became one of the residents of such club. From then on, he has played around the country in different cities like sanjose, guanacaste, Montezuma, Jaco , among others.

International Events

He has appeared at the Dance Latinoamerica for the Argentina Radio broadcasted on several internet radio stations in all latin America. Performance with international DJs consequently he has gained opportunities to share the same decks along with international dance stars such as Tiesto, Christopher Lawrence, George Acosta, NIC Fanciulli, Thomas Penton and Paul Van Dyk. to name a few.
